Figuring Out Buyer Behavior No. 2

In the case of this study, unfortunately and due to coronavirus, I was only able to interview one person before the situation started to get very tense. However, that person gave me very valuable insight into my questions for this assignment.

Alternative Evaluation:
In this case, the alternative to my parking-finder app, is just the “VIP parking spots” that most places offer, or the valet parking service. When asked about this, my interviewee said that she usually does not do it unless she is in an urgency, especially because of price. The prices for these services can sometimes even surpass $30, which is not affordable for her.

How/where do they buy?
In this case, the parking services are usually purchased on-site, and in front of the main entrances. Some other times, there are apps specifically designed to pay for these premium parking spots.

Post-purchase evaluation
It is a simple process in which my interviewee told me that if she was able to save a considerable amount of time, she would be happy with her decision regardless of the cost.

Findings
Although there are some alternatives to my solution, the price that they have usually makes them unaffordable for most of the people looking for parking spots.

Conclusions
After having my interviewee analyze the way she acts in cases of getting parking spaces, I can conclude that my product still has some chances of being profitable, and to have value for potential customers like her.

  1. Hey Richard! I actually came into this buyer behavior this weekend in Miami. I needed to be at this busy hotel and the surrounding area was super busy with barely any parking and NO free parking. I had to decide to do valet, garage parking, or street parking. I chose the street parking because it was waaaay cheaper than valet. I definitely could relate with your interviews.
